Audition Process
Audition Info
Unfortunately for some of you we have very recently had to make some changes to our policy, and are no longer accepting applications from those under the age of 18. If you are under 18 you will not be able to audition for the society at this time.
If you are still interested in auditioning, please click on application form link above.
For the audition you are required to prepare two contrasting musical theatre songs with backing tracks (as there will be NO PIANIST!). Acapella is not great, as it does not show off your voice to its full capacity, and without a track it may be really hard for you, especially as nerves are likely to kick in too, so please, source a backing track! We have the facilities to play tracks from an iPod/iPhone or CDs. You will be asked to take part in some basic dance movement, so please bring along some dance shoes (if you have them!) or trainers that you are able to move in. You will also be asked to perform a short piece of dialogue, which you will be given when you arrive.
You must be 18 years old to audition, and the annual subscription fee for the society is £60 which you will be required to pay in one lump sum. In addition to this, there is a show levy of £30 per show (if you decide to perform in a show).
Attached is some additional information about the audition process and about the Society for you to read.
In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions or queries, and please do confirm with me if you do want to attend the auditions.
If you are no longer interested in joining us, please let me know so that I can remove you from my distribution list for the future.
Best Wishes,
Olivia
