You don't have to wait 525,600 minutes to see the award winning Rent at the Players' Studio Theatre in October...

This rock opera is loosely based on Puccini's La Boheme, with music, lyrics and book by Jonathan Larson.  Rent follows the ups and downs of a year in the life of a group of impoverished, artistic friends living in Manhattan’s East Village. Mark, an aspiring filmmaker, struggles to find his place in the world; his roommate Roger, an HIV-positive musician, wonders how he will leave his mark before he dies. Mimi and Angel look for true love as they face the harsh reality of life as HIV-positive young people, while the business like Joanne seeks fidelity from her wild-child performance artist girlfriend Maureen. The group’s dreams, losses and love stories weave through the musical’s narration to paint a stunningly raw and emotional portrait of the gritty bohemian world of New York City in the late 1980s, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.

This is sure to be a Players highlight; come and join us on Manhatten's East side in October!

"Omigod, you guys"!  The Portsmouth Players are 'bending and snapping' in Feb 2025!!

Based on the novel and the hit-movie of the same name, Legally Blonde: the Musical chronicles the journey of the famously perky Elle Woods, a fashion-savvy, UCLA sorority girl who finds her life turned upside down when she is dumped by her boyfriend Warner. In an effort to prove to Warner that she is more than just some blonde sorority girl, she follows him to Harvard Law, where she struggles to fit in and do well. Ultimately, she defies expectations and manages to stay true to her delightfully pink personality.

Get "positive" and gather your groups together for this hilarious legal musical riot!  Courts adjourned (for now...!).
